An F-15E Strike Eagle takes off from an air base in Afghanistan recently. The Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night, and in all weather.

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (AFPN) - (Left to right) Staff Sgt. Jason Larkins, and Senior Airmen Michael Gergets and Aaron Scott secure an AIM-9 missile to an F-15 Eagle during the load crew of the year event here in January. The event was part of the 1st Fighter Wing annual load competition and was the first one to include the F-22A Raptor. The 71st Fighter Squadron won the event.
