Photo essay: Operation Warm and Dry
Master Sgt. Sam Nelson sorts jackets and blankets at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, Dec. 14, 2011, that will be given to Kyrgyz citizens as part of Operation Warm and Dry. Operation Warm and Dry is a humanitarian assistance project designed to provide jackets and blankets for children and elderly adults in the Kyrgyz Republic, where the winters are extreme. 12/16/2011 - TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan -- Airmen and Soilders spent the afternoon sorting more than 3,600 jackets by size and gender and packaging more than 500 blankets Dec. 14. The jackets and blankets, worth $102,000, will be donated to Kyrgyz citizens through Operation Warm and Dry, an annual Transit Center humanitarian assistance program.
